Stream Copilot: Build

Cues, overlay stacks, and presets, all in one editor. Compose the whole event before the lights are on.

01 Step

Build the rundown

Compose sets of cues. Each cue is a prepared on-air moment with its own overlay stack and presets.

02 Step

Go live, locked down

Switch to the Operate view and the rundown is locked. Quick Controls expose only what changes during the event.

03 Step

Edit on air, safely

Safe Mode catches edits to live overlays as drafts. Review the change, approve, push to output.

The way live events usually go

Live production shouldn't feel like landing a plane in the dark.

Most overlay setups are a tangle of browser sources, hidden settings and one-shot fixes. One miscue and the whole audience sees it.

Without Stream Copilot
With Stream Copilot
A dozen browser sources to juggle, one crash away from losing the overlay stack
One browser source that holds the entire overlay composition
A wrong click on the live source and a stinger fires mid-broadcast
A safe operator mode, with no destructive controls, ever
A new guest takes the stage and five overlays need to swap in the same second
One cue swaps every overlay, preset, and visibility state at once
Fix a typo in someone's name and the change pops on the live feed mid-sentence
Safe Mode catches on-air edits as drafts you approve before they ship
Any data update forces a reload, cutting the overlay out mid-event
Counters, titles, and lower thirds update in real time. No reload.
Every event starts from the same manual checklist, and one missed step brings the whole setup down
Build the whole event once; run it the same way every time
A volunteer clicks the wrong setting in OBS and the whole broadcast goes down
Your operator works inside Stream Copilot, isolated from OBS and any streaming software
Features

Everything you need. Nothing you don't.

Production tooling sized for small teams: events, services, auctions, talks, and streams.

Build and Operate Views

A dedicated control surface separate from OBS. The Operate view exposes only live controls, so accidental deletions and settings changes stay impossible during the broadcast.

Production-Ready Templates

Pre-designed lower thirds, scoreboards, tickers, and titles. Adjust the content, the design stays on-brand.

Cue-Based Rundown

Organize the production as a sequence of cues. One click swaps every overlay, preset, and visibility state at once.

Output Preview

Stage the next cue in a preview that mirrors the live output. Check timing, content, and overlays without touching what's on air.

Overlay Presets

Save multiple variants per overlay: colors, content, layouts. Switch presets instantly mid-broadcast, no rebuild needed.

Safe Mode for On-Air Edits

Edits to live overlays land in a draft first. Review the change, approve, then push to air. No silent surprises.

Real-Time Updates

Counters, lower thirds, and titles update live on the output. No reload, no awkward cuts.

One OBS Browser Source

Every overlay renders in a single composition. One URL, fewer browser sources, less RAM and GPU load.

Guest Operator

Someone else operates the event.
Nothing breaks.

Conferences, churches, award ceremonies, and corporate events often have a dedicated person behind the controls. Invite them to operate without ever risking an accidental delete, a setting change, or a build-mode mistake.

Producer

You build. Full control.

Create cues, design overlay stacks, configure presets, and set up Safe Mode. The full editor is yours. Build everything before the event with no time pressure.

  • Full build and operate access
  • Invite operators by email
  • Revoke access anytime
  • Safe Mode toggle stays with you
Operator

They operate the event. Safely.

The operator logs into their own account, sees the set, and gets a focused operate-only interface. No build tab, no settings, no destructive actions. Just what they need to run the event.

  • Switch cues live
  • Toggle overlays on/off
  • Change presets per overlay
  • Apply approved Safe Mode drafts

Each operator uses their own account, with no shared passwords or extra setup.
Add someone in seconds. Revoke access in one click.

Common questions

Answered before you ask.

Do I need OBS to use Stream Copilot?
Not necessarily. Stream Copilot gives you a standard browser source URL. It works perfectly with OBS Studio, vMix, Streamlabs, Wirecast, or any similar broadcast software. You can also open the same link in a regular browser on any computer to drive projectors or LED panels at the event venue.
Will Stream Copilot overload my computer?
On the contrary! Every individual browser source you add to OBS spins up its own Chromium process, eating into your RAM and GPU. By consolidating every overlay into a single Stream Copilot URL, OBS only runs one render process. The result? More performance left over for your GPU to encode the broadcast smoothly.
What happens if my operator clicks the wrong button?
With the Operate view active, every edit, delete, and settings button simply disappears from the screen. The operator only triggers cues from the rundown, switches between the presets you saved on each overlay, and applies Safe Mode drafts you approved. An interface that's accident-proof by design.
Do I need to be a designer to customize the overlays?
Not at all. Every template ships with thoughtful spacing, clean typography, and fluid animations baked in. You get full control over content, brand colors, positions, and scale, while the visual structure stays elegant and professional automatically. Guard rails to keep your broadcast looking premium, every time.
Is it really free to start?
Yes! Create your account with no credit card, build your first set, and try the whole thing on your broadcast right now. Stream Copilot is currently in beta, and a Pro plan is on the way for teams that need bigger productions, guest operators, and simultaneous projects.
